Students Grievance Redressal Committee
Resolving student concerns in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.
Kingway Technical Institute is committed to providing a transparent, fair, and student-friendly academic environment where every student is treated with dignity, equality, and respect. The Institute recognizes that students may encounter academic, administrative, or personal concerns during their course of study. To ensure that such issues are addressed promptly and effectively, the Institute has established a Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and other applicable statutory authorities.
The Students Grievance Redressal Committee serves as an impartial and independent body responsible for receiving, examining, and resolving grievances submitted by students in a fair, transparent, and time-bound manner. The Committee strives to maintain a healthy academic atmosphere by promoting open communication, mutual understanding, and accountability while safeguarding the rights and interests of students.
The Committee comprises the Principal, senior faculty members, administrative representatives, student representatives (where applicable), and other members nominated by the competent authority. The Committee functions objectively and ensures that every complaint is handled without bias, discrimination, or prejudice. Members of the Committee are expected to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the principles of natural justice throughout the grievance redressal process.
Students may approach the Committee regarding matters relating to academic activities, examination issues, evaluation concerns, attendance, scholarships, laboratory facilities, library services, hostel accommodation, transportation, classroom infrastructure, student amenities, discipline, administrative services, fee-related issues, or any other matter affecting their academic experience within the Institute. However, grievances relating to ragging, sexual harassment, caste discrimination, or matters specifically covered under separate statutory committees shall be referred to the respective committees constituted for those purposes.
The Institute encourages students to resolve minor concerns through interaction with faculty advisors, class mentors, Heads of Departments, or administrative officers before approaching the Committee. If the issue remains unresolved or requires formal intervention, the student may submit a written grievance to the Students Grievance Redressal Committee through the prescribed application form, official email, or the online grievance portal available on the Institute website.
Every grievance received by the Committee is acknowledged promptly and assigned for review. The Committee carefully examines all relevant documents, statements, and evidence before conducting discussions or hearings whenever necessary. Both the complainant and any concerned parties are provided an opportunity to present their views, ensuring fairness, impartiality, and transparency during the inquiry process. The Committee aims to resolve grievances within a reasonable period while keeping the student informed of the progress of the complaint.
The Institute assures students that all grievances shall be treated with strict confidentiality. The identity of the complainant and the details of the complaint shall not be disclosed except where required for conducting the inquiry or complying with legal obligations. Students submitting grievances in good faith shall not face any form of retaliation, discrimination, academic disadvantage, or victimization for approaching the Committee.
The Students Grievance Redressal Committee also plays a proactive role in identifying recurring issues affecting student welfare and recommending appropriate corrective measures to the Institute administration. Based on the nature of complaints received, the Committee may suggest improvements in academic policies, administrative procedures, student support services, infrastructure, digital facilities, examination systems, counseling services, and campus amenities. Such recommendations contribute to continuous institutional improvement and enhance the overall quality of education.
To promote awareness of student rights and institutional policies, the Committee organizes orientation programmes, awareness sessions, and interactive meetings at regular intervals. Students are educated about the grievance redressal mechanism, code of conduct, academic regulations, and available support services to encourage responsible participation in campus life and constructive resolution of concerns.
The Institute believes that effective grievance redressal strengthens trust between students and the administration while fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. Students are encouraged to communicate their concerns responsibly, provide accurate information, and cooperate during the inquiry process to facilitate timely resolution.
Any student who is dissatisfied with the decision of the Committee may submit an appeal to the competent authority of the Institute in accordance with the applicable institutional regulations and statutory provisions. Appeals shall be considered objectively based on the merits of the case and supporting evidence.
Kingway Technical Institute remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, accountability, and student welfare. Through the effective functioning of the Students Grievance Redressal Committee, the Institute seeks to ensure that every student receives a fair hearing and that genuine grievances are resolved efficiently, thereby creating a supportive and inclusive educational environment where students can pursue their academic goals with confidence and peace of mind.
