In accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Constitution of India, and other applicable statutory provisions, the Institute has constituted the SC/ST/OBC Committee to safeguard the rights and interests of students and employees belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).

The primary objective of the SC/ST/OBC Committee is to ensure that members belonging to reserved categories enjoy equal opportunities in academic, administrative, and extracurricular activities without facing discrimination, harassment, or social exclusion. The Committee actively promotes an inclusive campus culture based on equality, mutual respect, and constitutional values while ensuring compliance with government policies related to reservation and social justice.

The Committee consists of the Principal, senior faculty members, administrative representatives, members belonging to SC/ST/OBC communities, and other members nominated by the competent authority. The Committee functions independently and impartially, ensuring that all grievances are addressed in accordance with institutional policies and applicable legal provisions. Meetings are conducted periodically to review the implementation of welfare measures, monitor grievances, and recommend necessary improvements to strengthen institutional inclusiveness.

The Committee is responsible for protecting the rights of SC, ST, and OBC students and employees by ensuring that no individual is subjected to discrimination, harassment, humiliation, victimization, or unfair treatment based on caste or community. It works to create awareness regarding constitutional safeguards, reservation policies, scholarship schemes, government welfare programmes, and legal protections available to members of the reserved categories.

Students and employees may approach the Committee regarding grievances related to caste-based discrimination, denial of equal opportunities, unfair treatment in academic or administrative matters, scholarship-related issues, hostel accommodation, admission, examination processes, workplace discrimination, or any other matter affecting their educational or professional well-being. The Committee carefully examines every complaint while maintaining fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality throughout the inquiry process.

To facilitate easy access to grievance redressal, Kingway Technical Institute provides a Complaints Portal through which students and employees may submit complaints online. Grievances may also be submitted in writing to the Committee or through the official institutional email. Every complaint received is acknowledged promptly and assigned for appropriate action. The Committee conducts inquiries by examining relevant documents, statements, and evidence while ensuring that all concerned parties receive an opportunity to present their views in accordance with the principles of natural justice.

The Institute assures complainants that all grievances shall be handled with strict confidentiality. The identity of the complainant, witnesses, and all records relating to the complaint shall be protected to the maximum extent permitted by law. No student or employee shall face retaliation, discrimination, intimidation, or victimization for filing a complaint in good faith or participating in an inquiry conducted by the Committee.

Apart from grievance redressal, the SC/ST/OBC Committee actively undertakes initiatives to promote awareness, inclusion, and social harmony within the campus. The Committee organizes orientation programmes, awareness campaigns, seminars, workshops, expert lectures, and commemorative events highlighting constitutional values, social equality, human rights, and the contributions of social reformers. Such activities encourage students and employees to appreciate diversity and uphold the principles of equality and fraternity.

The Committee also assists eligible students in obtaining information regarding scholarships, fee concessions, government welfare schemes, educational loans, coaching programmes, career guidance initiatives, skill development opportunities, and other support services offered by Central and State Governments. Faculty members and administrative staff provide necessary guidance to students in completing applications and availing benefits under various welfare programmes.

Kingway Technical Institute follows a strict zero-tolerance policy against caste-based discrimination, untouchability, harassment, or any act that violates the dignity and fundamental rights of individuals. Any person found guilty of engaging in discriminatory practices shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with institutional rules, service regulations, and applicable provisions of Indian law. Depending on the seriousness of the misconduct, disciplinary measures may include warning, suspension, withholding of privileges, cancellation of admission, termination of employment, or legal action wherever applicable.

The Committee regularly reviews institutional policies and practices to identify barriers affecting equal participation and recommends corrective measures to improve accessibility, inclusiveness, student support services, and employee welfare. These continuous improvement efforts contribute to creating an equitable learning and working environment that reflects the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
