Shiv Nadar University Chennai is established by “Shiv University Act 2018” by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly to conceptualize, promote and bring about a paradigm shift through the development of outstanding leadership in research and innovation in education and allied development sectors.
Shiv Nadar Foundation
Established in 1994 by Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL (a US$ 13 billion global enterprise), the Shiv Nadar Foundation is committed to making a long-term, high-impact contribution to nation-building through education.
The Foundation believes that education is the single most powerful tool for socio-economic transformation. It works through a unique model of "Creative Philanthropy," which focuses on establishing institutions that nurture leadership, research capabilities, and academic excellence.
A Legacy of Educational Leadership
Across its various educational initiatives (including SSN College of Engineering, Shiv Nadar Schools, VidyaGyan, and Shiv Nadar Universities in Noida and Chennai), the Foundation has invested over Rs. 14,000 crores to build institutions that empower meritorious students from all sections of society.
Scholarship Initiatives
Under the Shiv Nadar Foundation Scholarship Scheme, millions in merit-based and need-based financial aid are distributed annually. This ensures that no meritorious student is denied access to world-class learning facilities due to financial constraints.
