Anti-Ragging Committee & Squad

Kingway Technical Institute maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form.

Kingway Technical Institute is committed to providing a safe, secure, and inclusive learning environment where every student is treated with dignity and respect. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the campus, hostels, transportation facilities, and all institutional activities. The Institute follows the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and other statutory authorities regarding the prevention and prohibition of ragging.

The Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted to ensure that students are able to pursue their education in a healthy academic atmosphere free from fear, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination. The Committee consists of senior faculty members, administrative staff, student representatives, parents, and external members as prescribed by regulatory authorities. The Committee regularly reviews the implementation of anti-ragging measures, monitors campus discipline, and recommends appropriate preventive and corrective actions whenever required.

In addition to the Committee, the Institute has established an Anti-Ragging Squad that functions as a vigilant body responsible for maintaining constant surveillance throughout the campus. The Squad conducts regular inspections in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, cafeterias, hostels, playgrounds, and other student gathering areas to ensure that no incidents of ragging occur. Members of the Squad interact with students on a regular basis to create awareness regarding the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.

The Institute believes that awareness and education are the strongest tools to prevent ragging. Every academic year, orientation programmes are organized for newly admitted students to familiarize them with campus regulations, student rights, institutional values, and grievance reporting mechanisms. Senior students are also sensitized through awareness campaigns, seminars, and counseling sessions to promote mutual respect, discipline, and responsible behavior.

Students are encouraged to report any incident or suspicion of ragging immediately to the Anti-Ragging Committee, faculty members, class mentors, or the Principal. Complaints may be submitted in person, through email, or via the Institute's grievance portal. All complaints are treated with strict confidentiality, and the identity of the complainant is protected to the maximum extent possible. Prompt inquiries are conducted, ensuring fairness, transparency, and adherence to the principles of natural justice.

The Institute follows a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Any student found guilty of participating in or encouraging ragging shall be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions and other applicable laws. Depending on the severity of the offence, disciplinary measures may include warning, suspension, withholding of scholarships, cancellation of admission, expulsion from the Institute, filing of police complaints, or any other action deemed appropriate by the competent authority.

Parents and guardians also play a significant role in preventing ragging. The Institute encourages continuous communication between parents and faculty members to ensure the overall well-being of students. Every student and parent is required to submit anti-ragging undertakings as mandated by the regulatory authorities during the admission process.

Kingway Technical Institute remains dedicated to nurturing a culture of mutual respect, equality, discipline, and academic excellence. Every member of the Institute community shares the responsibility of maintaining a ragging-free campus where students can develop academically, socially, and personally in a safe and supportive environment.
